The second issue of CR4SH3D is officially out digitally!

It will get an update before we start releasing printed issues due to a missing title (whoops), so Newgrounds will have a later release, sadly.

In the meantime, you can download the current version here.

When we update the missing title, the itch release will be updated as well and Newgrounds will get its upload!

So due to midterms (by the gods, midterms) there are some delays happening with production of the zine.

We're gonna do our best to post it before the end of March naturally, but since we're students our assignments are coming up due.

Sorry for the delays, though we do hope you have a very merry Ides of March tomorrow if you celebrate!

Hey folks!

So we're setting things up to go back to the printers to do some gluing and formatting, and we are set to go!

We are happy to announce that we are fully booked with poetry, collage, and a short story for this issue, and some things may even have to push to issue 3.

A huge shoutout to everyone who submitted collage, poetry, stories, and even art! If you don't see your work in the coming issue, don't worry! We'll feature it in the following issue.

We are still open for fanfiction recommendations though, so do hit us up with some of those if you want to rep your favourite fan writers!

Heyo!

So, as messages and submissions roll in (we get so excited every time!), we notice we need to add some clarifications we hadn't considered before so here they are! We are broke college students writing papers right now so sorry about the delays to responses, we promise we're working on it.

ANYWAY, first on the bulletin:

DEADLINES

We have deadlines for specific issues to gauge how much we'll be filling up the zines ourselves and how much of submissions will be taking up the spaces we got in the zine. However, there are no hard deadlines for submissions. Anything turned in after the deadline (for issue #2, it's February 28 to roughly March 5th) will be used in the next issue.

We are always open for submissions, They just might not show up until the next issue. We like having a back catalogue in the early workings of this zine since submissions are few and far in-between. This policy might change, but for now, always taking submissions.

Second:

HOW / WHERE TO SUBMIT

We had a bit of a blunder in our callout for submissions and forgot to list our email at the end of it, so here is our submissions email: cr4sh3d.zine@gmail.com

If you want to send us lots of collage scans or documents, this is where you send them.

If your submission is short, like a quick poem or a fanfiction recommendation, just private message us!

Otherwise, email is where it's at!

Thank you so so much to the people who've submitted their work to be featured in CR4SH3D issue #2!

We aren't kidding when we say it brings us a lot of joy and giddiness to see people putting their work out there and allowing us to be part of that outlet, even if it's small!

Maybe a boring post, but libraries are free education sites, y'all!

Without our local library, the GVPL (Greater Victoria Public Library), we wouldn't even be able to print our zine without fees!

Naturally we have to use it in moderation, so we have limited printing opportunities, but hey, still a free printer nonetheless.

Plus you book computers for free internet access as well, which is nice if you can't afford a computer at home (or internet).

So if ever you think "man, books are expensive these days", hit up your local library, big shout-outs to the people still keeping 'em open!

We want submissions of your poetry! Maybe you've got some at the bottom of your collection you think would never see the light of day? Well we want 'em, anonymously, credited or otherwise! 

Bad poetry or mediocre poetry encouraged! Truly good poetry is the exception not the rule. Sometimes you just gotta express yourself!

Got a quick 2 or 3 paged story? Share it with us and we could add it to our Flash Story segment of the zine!

Put your writing out there to be seen, and plug your credits if you want to be found!

We also accept any fanfiction blurbs you want to plug too! Just tell us where to find it and we'll put in if we like it!

We might even put in some recs of our own.

Finally, we are all about collage! If you got some sick work you want to share, we'd love to feature it! 

Otherwise we will be making plenty to fill the space!

OUR PLANS

Currently we are planning 2 confirmed issues, which will both printed and (attempt to) create a digital copy to share on our socials. Release dates will be bi-monthly (every 2 months)

We hope to go forward with more based on reception and interest :). 

Best case scenario, we get to have fun, help some people publish their stuff, and make cool shit to read. 

We have begun the task of creating out socials, which will be posted and shared in the near-future.
